Player Question

I'm having trouble deciding on a good consequence, what is an effective consequence?

Coach Answer

Accountability is one of the most important components along with having good systems for achieving results. A great way to have accountability in your Game and making it fun is to involve other people such as your kids, your spouse or co -workers. For example, if one of your goals is to be home on time for dinner, tell your kids that every time you are home late during your Game you will give them each $1 (make any amount you wish). You will be sure to find them wait for you everyday. When I played my first Game I had a co worker hold me accountable for prospecting everyday. If I did not prospect and the assigned times and he caught me I would be his prospector the next day for 60 minutes. Everyday I saw him pacing up and down the hallway check on me. Twice he caught me and I prospect for him but I hot in hundreds of extra hours of prospecting for myself and it leap frog my business to the next level. Have fun with this!

Player Question

Every time I time block I get thrown off my schedule. What do I do?

Coach Answer

This is common for people who time block sporadically. It is like saying "I went to the gym once and I can't get in shape". Time blocking is something that needs to be done consistently in order to reap the full benefits. If you are still experiencing problems staying on schedule then you may want to look at using a daily buffer.

Measure the average amount of time in your day that you get knocked off your schedule / interrupted and put an equivalent time buffer at the end of your day.

For example; If you get interrupted on average a total of 60 minutes a day put in at the end of you time block a 60 min block for unforeseen activities. This will give you the flex time you need. It is important to note that this 60 min is not an addition to your workday. You need to complete your work at a reasonable time for you to have balance in your life. The buffer or flex time is designed to help you with balance. If you stay on your time block all day and you don't need the buffer, as a prize, you get to leave early!! This is a helpful process to allow to time block powerfully even when it is difficult to do so. This will buy you the time you need to get items cleaned up so you don't have these regular interruptions.

Player Question

My work days are far too long and not very productive. What do I do?

Coach Answer

The solution is much easier than you think and it is not by working harder or longer. You must take the time to organize and plan (sharpen) your day. The day before, spend 30 to 60 minutes planning your next day by first making a list of what needs to be done and then scheduling time for it. Be generous when scheduling time especially when you first start following this system to make up for any unforeseen items or interruptions. As you plan your next day, think of yourself as a tour guide taking you on an all inclusive tour wanting you to have the best possible experience with little or no hassle.
