Janus 2007 Life Mastery Game
The “Game” provided me a platform and framework that I can use to move closer to more balance in my life. Playing the “Game” was very revealing, not only in my shortcomings, but also in the fact that I can accomplish these tasks and be more productive personally and professionally. The accountability and team framework provided and encouraging and supportive environment.

Feeling more in control of my time has had terrific benefits in the hectic pace of daily life. I have always been the sort of person who makes lists. I love the feeling of crossing off items on my list as things get accomplished. The mind dumping list ritual that I use the evening prior has added a lot of value to this habit of mine. Time blocking or power blocks…as I call them, are essential to maintaining high performance at work. I schedule 55 minute blocks of time to accomplish task, drink water, move – then I take the time to focus on those who need my talents, skills, time and energy. It does not work every day or every week but just having the model week to strive for feels great.

The Game has taught me to not fear my earthly mistakes, but to use them as examples of ways to do things better for the people I care about. I learned to listen - I will no longer have a routine conversation with anyone. I will listen! The Game has taught me that, a group celebrates, a couple embraces and an individual does the best they can to make both of those events happen as many times as possible in their life!
- Scott Zahorik
Going forward, I am working on leading a fully engaged, virtuous, and self-respecting life. These are not just words, but instead an actual Ultimate Mission that I am confident I will fulfill.

Legg Mason 2003 Business Game
The biggest lesson for me is the confirmation that I must focus better on making the new asset gathering calls necessary to grow my business. I will still have to concentrate on calling prospects and current clients with investments outside of Legg Mason. It is the only way to build the asset base I need for a successful business. I will have to develop and utilize advocates better. The most helpful thing going forward will be to continue building on the increased comfort level to make the calls. Small successes pave the way for larger successes.

There is more to increasing sales and business, than spending more time doing business related items. i.e. Sarano's approach to getting you're vacation right, you're workout time right , time with family right etc. all comes back to play on business performance. Forgiveness: Self for not accomplishing something, others for not doing what they say. Sarano taught to start over its a new day, past is behind us, we can re-start and get back on track today. To forgive others in the sense that they are beating themselves up enough... help them remove the guilt.

The things that will have the biggest impact on growing my business are.... The relationship that has developed between me and my accountability partner. We have agreed to continue our daily calls. I have a great partner. Time Blocking and calls from my A, B, C, D client listing with emphasis on additional A relationships, reassigning B relationships to either A or C, and rescuing any D's. What will help me most to continue this momentum..... To strategize my business development efforts using a documented and measurable "Contact Plan" to include a minimum of calls daily and continued accountability with my partner. The "Falling Still" thing has been really good for me. Thanks to Sarano...and thanks to Jeff Durkee.

The Business Game
In ‘Ask for Business Calls’ my low was about 8 per week and at the end of 90 days I hit a high 28 – that is a 350% increase in proactive business. In relation to ‘Asking for Referrals’ my low was zero and I hit a high of 4 with an average 2 per week. Therefore in the last 2 months -26 specific asks and in the last 90 days, I’ve bought in more assets than in the previous whole year! And what is more exciting is that I have more in the pipeline. Gross numbers - 29% increase from 2005 same quarter.
- Jay, DA Davidson 2006
I found that it really is all about velocity and focus, I had a 680% increase in Ask for Business Calls, my low was 5 and my high was a big 34!!!! Never, ever thought this was even possible. Asking for Referrals – never did any of this in my career before so doing 3 per week is huge for me. In the last week, I have bought in 2.5 million in fee based business – normally this would take me a month or more of hard work, and I comfortably did it in just one week! The pipeline is growing and its gratifying to know what I can project for the rest of the year.
ref - low 0 - high 3 (never did any in career before) .Converting biz from transaction to fee based - last week bought in 2.5mil in fee based biz in just a week which would be normally a month or more of work - won't see the profit from that yet but knowing its in the pipeline is gratifying.

Getting business like going out of style, asking for business – what a concept! Ask for Business maybe about 6 per week, I ended this Game asking a high of 40, that’s about a 525% increase. In asking for referrals, I also hit a high of about 9 per month, this has resulted in an increase in 35% in assets. Overall I’ve found I’ve also had more time for family, increased my speed reading from 250 words per minute to 1000. I only see things getting better as I keep up these new, improved habits beyond these 90 days, right now I’m 132% up on the first 8 months of this year alone!

Life Mastery Game
I really want to thank my Game partners, my wife and manager for their support during my Game. 90 days ago, I had lost will power and motivation – then came The Game. I’m now working out consistently 5 - 6 days per week, gave up coffee, cut out snacks and fast food, I was too scared to get on the scale for years as I know I’m over 235lbs, last week was down to 199lbs. In my spiritual Game, I attended Church every week in 90 days, prior to that I lost my way when my mother passed 2 yrs ago therefore, my wife went to church every week by herself. Refreshing has been great help for me in focus and I have the feeling that everything feels back on track.

During this 90 days I reached a major turning point, I was so overwhelmed at the beginning and I accomplished so many incredible life practices that I can't believe it most the time. I played my Game in 5 areas - education, body and health, mind / stress, business and tools & technology. My business is up 33% which is above what I expected. Things came to me in this Game that I didn’t even play for and I couldn’t be happier with the results, I have a solid path to follow now and only see my Game continuing. Thank you so much!
- Barbara
I finally recognized and stopped criticism on myself and others, focused on using directed attention and found it very rewarding. Time Blocking and Mind Dumping have been excellent skills, I was already doing something but the reinforcement from these teaching have allowed me more time away from work thus succeeding in my Relationship Game...taking my relationship with family to next level. Amazingly, the fighting with my daughters has diminished. My environment is de-cluttered and resembles a normal living and working space now. The practice of Falling Still and Refreshing was a little daunting at first but now I’m really into practice and benefit greatly from such a simple and effective exercise.

I'm 6'3", and I weighed 203 pounds when I started playing The Game. For 90 days, I carefully watched what I ate, worked out five days a week, did push-ups and sit-ups, lifted my luggage when I traveled, and ran up and down steps in hotels. I never went to a gym. I just college worked out with whatever was available in my immediate surroundings and substantially increased my daily activity. At the end of The Game, I'd brought my body fat down to 11 percent, and I weighed 179 pounds. This is the best shape I've been in since.
