Committed to Its Children…

Once upon a time, a few committed superintendents, principals, teachers and students got together and decided to be completely committed to each other’s goals and aspirations over 45 days.  They decided on partners, they wrote out their goals, they got some really good coaches and they even asked their parents to be their “fans”…sound like a dream?  Nope…it’s the reality that has been created by some very committed adults and some very dedicated young people, led by International consultant, author, and coach, Sarano Kelley of Sarano Kelley International, creator of “The Game, Win Your Life in 90 days”.

The Game is a system that is designed to assist an individual in reaching any goal they have in life.  It uses accountability to insure that individuals are able to follow-through on what they say is important.  Just like any great competition, The Game’s Starting Line begins with a partner, setting goals  and using the Game technology to ensure accountability for those goals.  Once The Game begins, the players support each other with daily phone calls and they participate in weekly coaching calls with their teammates.   Weekly coaching calls are led by professionally trained coaches.  Once the players begin they are encouraged to play as if everything in their life depended on it –not only their goal being achieved –but more importantly the fulfillment of their partner’s goal.  In the Game a winner is a unique individual because he or she has done more than simply achieve success for themselves but more importantly they have taken responsibility for the success of their partner and their team.

So back to the dream that’s manifested into reality in the Capital Region, The Game…Here’s how The Game shapes up:
The three teams all consist of players that are within their peer group:

• Everyone has a partner within their team
• Everyone sets 3-5 goals
• Everyone participates in a daily partner phone call or meeting
• Everyone participates in a weekly coaching call
• In addition each  principal and teacher mentors to 2 students

Every great sporting event has loyal fans and this Game is no exception.  All of the parents  have weekly "huddles" with the coaches so that they are well informed and therefore able to provide the optimum support for their champions at home.
 
The televised kick-off for the Capital Region Game aired on WTEN Channel 10 Tuesday, April 25th.  WTEN will be covering this unprecedented “life sporting event” from the start to the finish line.
